hey All,

I am seeking assistance from any travel savvy blues that may be able to help me

I am coming home at the end of this year for a visit and will be taking the missus around Europe whilst we are in this part of the world however we have hit a snag

We would like to leave Venice and see Dubrovnik (maybe even a quick trip through split to see if i can get a threesome with Vlasics sister lol)

However it seems we have the option of paying massive amounts of money to fly there whether via Zagreb Montenegro or Sarajevo or driving a monster road trip

How did you guys get to Split is there any insider knowledge you could share to a tight pocketed inexperienced traveller of europe

Also whats the go with no luggage option on flights?
Thanks im advance ;)

Best result so far is

Venice to Zagreb 4 hour drive

Then fly to Dubrovnik for $78

Thats actually very reasonable

what are your experiences regards frey bentos tin lids, buses , shoes and toilet seats?

Is Ash short for @Ashtonian you've just posted and answered your own question in 11 minutes welcome back.

Nah mate i’ve used my Facebook account for years I do remember seeing an Ashtonian around though and yer lol my missus managed to work it out after 2 hours of coming up with nothing lol

GOT's master traveller @chicoazul can help here.

Well I been waiting to ask him the big question of where to get tickets at goodison... when I was a young fella the Gladys Street End was revered but I seem to hear more about the Park End these days... wanna show the missus an atmosphere although goodison has come across as a library on the Tele in recent times... it will still be head and shoulders above any sporting event over here and I’ve done them all

About the same as the levels of respect I have remaining for Ross Barkley (y)

Good answers mate.

Regarding tickets for the matches Ash, you've obviously got the club itself, stubhub (although difficult you can occasionally pick up a bargain of 2 tickets together) and you can always visit the match ticket thread on here and as you're a poster with a bit of history you would be in with a chance if anyone had spares, good luck with things;)

I've been to Dubrovnik, but flew direct so can't really help. I remember the coach journey back to the airport crosses in and out of Montenegro, not that I have any clue where an airport in Montenegro is.

Anyway, 2 tips for Dubrovnik:

1) Do not and I mean DO NOT go on days when the Cruise ships dock. Imagine a small concealed, walled circle that holds 2000 people and then out of nowhere and extra 3000 turn up at the same time.

You can find out when they are due in, in our hotel they told us but we thought, 'nah cant be too bad'

2) Drink before you go out

Honestly. The most disappointing city I was ever in. It's been rebuilt after the war of the eighties so a lot of it is fairly new build. My opinion only though.

Was there last year for a couple of weeks because of work. I thought it was a lovely city. The hotel I stayed in was good (Grand Villa Argentina) and I found some decent restaurants.

The only downsides were 1) the aforementioned cruise ships bringing with them the walking dead and 2) the beach in town is pretty crap/crowded, but I'm not really a fan of beaches anyway.
