Travelling around the world

My advice to anyone would be to travel as much as possible, as early as possible - in this day of age providing you can fund yourself there is no excuse not to do so.

Completely agree, I have more great memories from my 18 months of travelling than I do from the other 34 years of my life!

When I left in 2009 I had a lot of reservations as I was leaving a secure, well paid job, my friends and family to step into the unknown. I still remember being on the plane to Thailand wondering if I had done the right thing. Two weeks later I’d already met so many great people and seen so many amazing places I knew I had definitely done the right thing.

Love going on holiday but travelling just does not appeal to me, am I the only one?

Can't be doing with going to some dusty ass country and pretending to act like i'm in a TEFL advert, a lot of people in my age range (20-24) seem to be doing it to put off the inevitable of getting a job and working for a living, not for me i'm afraid.

Each to their own. The first time I went travelling I was 30. It never appealed to me until I turned about 28 and suddenly realised I was fed up of sitting around in a 9 to 5 job everyday, looking forward to the weekend/ a week’s holiday every three months/retiring at 70.

I know it isn’t for everyone though, I just finding it immensely preferable to the daily grind!

Don't get me wrong, I see where you're coming from and i'd certainly give a good tour of the states a go if practicable, it's just that currently i'm at the interview/medical stage for my realistic dream job so buggering off hasn't exactly entered my mind...

Good luck! What is this dream job you speak of?

Rather than make a new thread, I am about to travel 16,000 kms from Australia to go see Everton vs Chelsea.

What are some of the things I should do in Liverpool for the two days that I am here on that weekend?

No visit is complete without a pint in the Lisbon

Cheers

Sir

water-ski from one of the duck buses at albert dock

bungee jump off the liver buildings

try a traditional homestay with a local family in toxteth

or if you had longer you could follow in the footsteps of the world's great explorers and hike the scally trail that leads to the fabled lost city of norris green
