I moved to the south east from Kirkby. It is ok but in a few more years I shall move back closer to home.

Seriously when my wife and I retire we intend to take a 'gap year' and travel around the world if our finances hold out. Plan B would be to do the trip in stages with a lot of saving in between.

Are you planning a trip Professor?

I did it after Uni mate. Me and my mate went to Egypt where I worked in a red sea resort, then went to Isreal and Jordan with the cash I made.

Did a TEFL then spent 8 years working in Turkey, Italy, Portugal, Argentina and Brazil.

You won't get rich but you will have a fantastic time, learn loads about the world and slot loads of fancy exotic poontang.

What are you waiting for?

Did one from 2009 to 2011. Went to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Australia to work, New Zealand to work and then back home via Malaysia and Indo again. Was the best time of my life.

Just worked out that in a year’s time I should have saved up enough to go away again for a decent amount of time. The idea of travelling again keeps me going through the 9 to 5 routine at work every day! Thinking of cycling down the West Coast of USA from Vancouver to Tijuana plus seeing more of South-East Asia, and then doing another year working in New Zealand.

What part of the South-East were you in? That is my neck of the woods.

Many years ago I hitched that route with a mate, we had two weeks leave. Probably not so safe these days but it was a good trip.

I'm in Windsor mate, are we neighbours?

Did it before i went to uni after school, probably wasnt the best time for an 18 year old to be set free on the world. Brazil, Argentina, Chile, New Zealand, Aus, Singapore and Thailand. Hell of a time.

My advice to anyone would be to travel as much as possible, as early as possible - in this day of age providing you can fund yourself there is no excuse not to do so.
