I am traveling to Liverpool during the Man U game this spring and was looking for some insite on what to do, where to stay and eat while I am there.

What is the best way to purchase tickets for the game?

What is the best way to travel from London to Liverpool if I want to stop in Whales?

Thanks for the help, I am genuinely going ballistic thinking about getting to see the Boys play at home.

What is the best way to purchase tickets for the game? The Man U game may be a bit tricky mate, I think its Easter weekend too? It will be rammed. Maybe Stub Hub but expect to pay over the odds.

What is the best way to travel from London to Liverpool if I want to stop in Whales? Which part of Wales, north or south? If its south then rent a car mate. Getting from south to north Wales is difficult - its quicker to drive out of Wales and to the east of it. If North Wales then take the train which goes direct to Bangor. Then train it to Liverpool via Chester, dead easy.

Enjoy mate, I'll be away at that time unfortunately or I would have bought you a beer. Goodison is special - you'll see why.

Be sure to stop in at The Lisbon while in Liverpool, most of the local Everton fans meet up there from what I can make out, you'll get a fantastic sample of local scouse.

I'll be there for that game too.

If you are doing a fair bit of travel by train rather than car when you are here look at getting a Britrail pass to save a few quid and use it all over the country. Just Google it and you can book it before you come. If its just the London to Liverpool bit you need, book in advance on virgin trains website to save money and you can pick the tickets up when you get to London.

Keep your plans flexible. As I understand it, this game is likely to be bumped to another time or day for TV.

Have a look at London Midland - cheaper than Virgin Trains. Though slower.

Also megabus have some ridiculously good prices so don't forgo the coach if you're on a budget.
