Transfer Window to close before season starts from 2018/19

Jim White will be fuming.
He should be made up as there will be 2 TDDs. One for buying players and a second for selling.

I think its a great idea. Means we have to bring our new players in early so they are ready for the start of the season. Then gives us a few more weeks to offload our dross and maintain our sell fo buy status.

Nope.

If I am reading it right, we will still be able to sell Niasse up until the end of the August.

But only to Barcelona......not Manchester United as EPL clubs are restricted to buying before August 9th.

This is confusion squared.
You talking of selling Niasse go Man U and Barca has confused the hell out of me too.

I think it's good. In some of the articles they mention that Germany may follow suit. I think it's the start of the whole thing changing for the better.

The negatives people mention about selling......well I guess until all Europe comes into line it would mean European clubs paying huge premiums for players after the deadline due to English clubs not being able to buy to replace OR, due to the money in the Prem League, teams will just straight up say no. It may create some cases of unhappy players but I think players and agents will become aware that if they really want out to another league they should sort it before the English deadline or it will get 10 times harder. I think the 'unhappy player' scenario here would quickly become rare.

As for selling, somebody else pointed out above you can sell all year round so long as the buying club has permission to buy in their league. I think the above will negate any worries about sales in that 20 day danger period before other leagues windows close.

The worst case scenario, which I think will quickly become less common, is you lose a player you cant replace but for a grossly inflated fee.

I like how the clubs are claiming it will stop the mad rush before the deadline. No it won't, it just brings the same mad rush forward a few weeks, we will still have madness going on on the Thursday, just Sky will be gutted they can't drag it out till 11.

It'll be a very short window next year with the WC
Add in players holidays after that and you have 2/3 weeks to get deals done.
Siggy's situation won't happen as clubs will either
Buying club will pony up or move on quickly to next target
Selling club if they really want to sell will have to negotiate and drop price.
The major worry for me is early tapping up of players so the deal can be done quickly.
Has the opening date of the transfer window changed ???

Logic flawed. You can't replace a player you plan to sell after the initial deadline and you can't bring players in if you already have players in their position in case you either don't sell or simply player rejects the move.

Get rid of the January window next, say I.

If you run out of players by then you have to bring in reserves and youngsters.

And no sneaky loan deals.
