Totally understand the rationale, but this is British clubs shooting themselves in the foot if they allow overseas clubs to buy our players and not allow replacements to be drafted in. Needed agreement with European clubs for it to be sensible.

Exactly.I can see that causing real trouble.

Good idea in principle but it needs cross European agreement.

So we can't buy after 9th August '18 but can sell abroad till the 31st .
Yes,if next seasons league begins on the 11th august,if they want to stop us from buying before the season starts, they need to let us stop selling on the same date,,,,INS AND OUTS FROM PREM CLUBS cease on same date, while other leagues have the extra week or 2,this wont work otherwise while other leagues can buy your players up to 2 extra weeks or more

Wanted this for years.
Do what we did this year get them signed asap.full pre season with
Your new team mates.
If Barcelona want niasse after the league has started its 80million or he stays

I don't understand.

According to the BBC website they cannot buy players after that date but can still sell players during the rest of the regular window :(

That sounds like a recipe for confusion to me.

Nope.

If I am reading it right, we will still be able to sell Niasse up until the end of the August.

But only to Barcelona......not Manchester United as EPL clubs are restricted to buying before August 9th.

This is confusion squared.

Totally agree. Don't get the logic of doing this if the other European countries aren't. All that will happen is players will become even more unsettled and English clubs won't be able to replace them.
