Reminds me how succesful we were in the summer 2006 and 2007 transfer windows.
-Decent money spent
-Transfers done early and quickly wrapped up long before the first -competitive match
-Players signed who are still at the club and very important members of the squad. i.e Howard, Jagielka, Pieenar, Baines, Yakubu
-Players who had strong resale value. i.e Johnson, Lescott
Compare that to the Summer 2008 when the deals were dragged on and on, signings made after first competitve match and only one became an important member of the squad, Fellaini, the rest left with no re-sale value.
