Player Valuation: £35m
I had this question obvioulsy because of joleons recent actions. exactly what does a transfer request do? if the club can reject it outright, does the player have any kind of recourse? and if not, what's the point in submitting a formal request at all?

If you get one accepted, you can talk to clubs. Lescott can't now go and talk to City.

Unless that's just FM. lol

A request is just asking the club to consider breaking the contract for want of a better explanation .

The exact Everton protocol remains:

  1. wait for the club to get in financial dire straits (not a difficult first obstacle)
  2. wait for the first three bids to fail
  3. let the manager know you want a move
  4. sit down with agent to draw up formal transfer request
  5. write/phone Bill Kenwright to plead case for following dream
In these times of global change and uncertainty it's reassuring to know that traditions like this still have their place.

Joleon can **** off now tbh, if he's staying for the season I'll support him as I support any Everton player, but if (when)he leaves next summer he's on my most hated list.

i was legitimately trying to get information by starting this thread because i wanted to know how things might play out since the transfer request was rejected. you don't need to spout your distaste for all things related to everton business in this instance, do you really think even this time the club is at fault? surely hughes tapping up and lescott's agent fascillitating the illegal tap-up are atleast a little bit to blame?

I suppose it is vaguely like handing your notice in at work. But that usually means you have another job to go to. And you almost always have to work a period of notice.

Sorry.

I feel [Poor language removed] now.
