"Tranmere midfielder Joe Thompson has been diagnosed with cancer. The 24-yr old hasn't played since September."

Poor fella, don't know what kind of cancer he has, but I'm sure we all wish him well.

Tranmere Rovers Football Club has been informed that Joe Thompson has been diagnosed with cancer.
Joe underwent medical tests after feeling ill which confirmed he had contracted nodular sclerosing Hodgkin’s disease.
The Club will learn more about Joe’s illness in due course and will fully support him and his family in this difficult time. He will shortly begin a six month course of chemotherapy.
Chief Executive Mick Horton said: “We are stunned by this news and all our thoughts are with Joe and his family.
“Joe will get all the love and support we can give him as he undergoes his treatment.
“We ask that the privacy of Joe and his family is respected and we will share information with supporters as and when we receive it.
“I’m sure all of our fans will join us in wishing him a full and quick recovery.”
Manager Ronnie Moore added: “Joe is a fantastic young man and he will be missed around Prenton Park while he has treatment.
“He has the full support of all the coaching staff and his team mates and we will do everything we can to help him make a full recovery.”
