There are takeovers and takeovers though Dave. Think of it like going on the pull at the weekend. You're looking for a girl but your standards will heavily influence your chances of getting one. Set your sights low enough and I dare say it's easy to find an investor. Considering Johnson has been trying to sell the club for the best part of a decade it's perhaps reasonable to assume his sights are in the gutter.

They were in for Sheffield Wednesday a while back. This is League One, so I suppose Tranmere would see this as a bit of a catch, to keep the analogy going. There's no real comparison to the Everton situation, of course: here's an owner looking to get rid of a club he's not prepared to fund anymore for what looks like just the taking off him of club debt.
