apparently only loosely based, its not a great book..nowhere near as good as trainspotting..
worries me this film, trainspotting is one of my fave ever films..

Probably in my top 5 too , so pretty risky. Thing is though even if 100 people told me it was crap , if the the original cast turn up then I'm (and probably lots of others) gonna see it anyway.

It feels like it was written with a film in mind. Has more of the amusement factor about it rather than the edge of trainspotting

Hmmmm, I'm not sure it would make a great film to be honest. As a book it was a it sprawling and not all that focused. However, Trainspotting the film cut a lot out of Trainspotting the book and tweaked bits out of the story line

Actually, I'd be more worried if they tried to make a 'prequel' film out the book that Welsh released recently. Sagboys - it acts as a scene setter for Trainspotting, but don't half go on

McGregor's said a few times he'd never do a sequel, so he must be getting paid a mint to do it if he is.

Dunno why he's gonna risk ruining the original's reputation with a sequel, they rarely live up to the expectation.
