Captain Sensible from the Damned is an avid trainspotter. He once asked me to take photos of the steam train on the West Highland way for him because it used to pass right past my house.

Seen fellas sanding near the freight tracks by my house waiting for certain trains to pass by. Must be special types of engine or something as all the freight pullers look the same to me. Good luck to them I say, I do and have done some really nerdy shizz in my life so I'm not going to judge them for their hobby.

So nobody can explain why they do this...whats the attraction!?

Its like anytime I get a lift to Dublin Airport and down the back road theres loads of plane-spotters....

whats going on?

maybe the train and plane spotters will inherit the earth, and we are all in the wrong?

When I went to Speke hall I spent about an hour watching planes come in and take off. Planes make trains look like crap.

Never understood the fascination with autographs mate.

For non-fraud purposes, anyway.

Off the subject a bit but every time am on the motorway I look at the front of every Eddie Stobart truck to see what name it is, does this make me a truckspotter???
