This is based on the game not going to Extra Time.

Early last month Virgin ran a flash sale offering super cheap single or return tickets from Lime Street to London Euston.

So in an impulsive moment I checked the fixture list for upcoming away games in London and noticed we were at Palace on the 23rd April.

Great

So rang a mate who said get it booked.

Btw this was before the Chelsea game but I'm obviously still an idiot for not checking the semi dates first.

Anyway I booked return travel for two

Departing Lime Street 10.47am - Arriving Euston 1pm

Departing Euston 8.11pm - Arriving Lime Street 10.49pm

Total cost £52

That 8.11pm is definitely running but unsure if I could make it to Euston in time presuming no ET?

That is my question really.

I'm also willing to sell those 2 return train tickets if anybody interested?

If not, I'll be selling my Thomas Cook coach ticket in a separate thread later lol

At a push mate you could make it, but dont forget you have to get on the tube to get to euston anytime you are waiting to get on lessen the chance of making it.
there are only two trains back so everybody will be trying to get on.
plus the mancs will be trying to get back to euston as well so you are limited to which stations you can get on to the tube.
unless you got out before the end It could go tits up, they will just ram those trains full, seats ect will get suspended, did agaist chelsea and man unt when i went that way.

Nice one mate. That sorta rules out using the return ticket then. Way too risky.

And difficult to sell the outward as singles at this late stage.

Virgin wouldn't budge on a refund either.

And I've also got a coach ticket. Head is battered!

Go on the train one way and coach on the way back ;) win win!

It gets more complicated mate. My dad and his other half are driving down the night before and I've got the option of a lift back.

So if I use the train getting down there I'd look to sell the coach ticket and just get a lift coming back. Could recoup £38 back then.

Like I said. Head battered lol

Be lucky to sell it 2 days before mate, would have thought most people would have boxed travel off already.

Good luck tho.

Last time I went to Wembley (Eng v Ger women's) there was massive snaking queues to get back on the train. Tube might've been different, but I'd expect not. I'd allow a good 60-90 mins from final whistle to Euston, maybe even more.

Oh, a little tip here: 99% of folk will be taking a southbound train after the game. For the tube at least, consider taking a northbound train (which will have barely any queue) one stop, then double back on yourself at the next stop.
