Was stuck in my worst one ever today. 3 hours on the A1.

I wasn’t sure what I was meant to do so just sang my head off to songs.

What’s the worst one you’ve been in and what are you meant to do to pass the time?

(Oh and it didn’t even look like anyone had died in the accident)
 

I got stuck on the freeway once. Huge pile up after these three people had been martial arts fighting with a bunch of what looked like FBI agents. Bird fled on a motorbike, didn’t see what happened to the fellas as there was a smash between two 18 wheelers the took my attention.

I get loads of abuse for moaning about my motorway hell in work, I do just under 45miles a day there and back usually 1hr each way. Accident or bad weather pushes me to about 1.5hrs, so 3hrs a day in traffic. So I can genuinely sympathise.

I’m just new to it. Didn’t know what I was meant to do!
 
I used to have a field service job in southern California. Routinely would have to leave before 5 am to get somewhere in a reasonable timeframe.

Worst of it was a 4.5 hour stop and go jaunt across LA.

People here in NZ, when they have to wait an extra 10 minutes to get home moan their heads off about how appalling the traffic is.

Perspective is what's needed here.
 

Oh and one time after landing at 1am in LAX after a job in Alaska, I got my car and headed home. Onto the I405 and at 2am..... Stop and go traffic across 5 Lanes for no apparent reason!!!!! 2 am!!!!!!

Didn't get home until almost 4am!!!

That’s the ideal time to listen to @Adam-GOTTV and I on the @GrandOldTeam podcast.

When safe and legal of course.
 
Had a few trips to Heathrow that were supposed to be 5 hours but had a total journey time of 8 to 10 hours.

I think personally the longest any one completely standstill stop for me was about 3 hours but that was a while back. I wouldn't mind so much nowadays as least I have a dvd player in the car.
 
6 hours on the M6 around Penrith. Big pile up a few miles ahead. It was nighttime in the middle of summer so I got out of the car, lay on the bonnet and smoked fags and looked at the stars. There was games of football on the hard shoulder, people walking dogs etcs. Nobody was left in their cars. It was quite surreal.
