My no.2 sad song about suicide. Just behind S-K's "Jumpers".

Not that anyone cares, but I feel I should explain this song.

Basically the whole album is about a character called "Cerpin Taxt" who overdoses to try and kill himself and then goes into a hallucinatory coma. Upon awakening and finding the real world to be so much worse than this extended dream, he leaps off a building and this time successfully ends his life

The kicker is that the character is based on a real-life friend of the band, Julio Venegas, who committed suicide at the age of 23. In addition, but purely by coincidence, another close friend of the band and sound engineer for the band; Jeremy Michael Ward, died one month before the release of the album, aged 27. He was also the brother of Jim Ward, a former member of At the Drive-in; the band in which the lead singer and guitarist of TMV were in beforehand.

So when you combine the quality of the song with how the fictional story of the album crescendos here, factored in with the real life death that surrounds it... well it's easy to see why I find this song so sad!

I see some songs getting criticism on here but two that people have mentioned that have effected me are:

And one I watched tonight because of this thread that gave me pain in my cheeks as I fought back tears (thanks Lynne).

I guess I'm a sucker for children losing their parents and parents losing their children, breaks my heart.

Just gave both my kids a kiss.

Not exactly the saddest song, but one with a very special meaning for me. Plus the opening line is awesome (imo) - "Hello there, the angel from my nightmare"

Found from a movie series (Supernatural) and actually liked it very very much.

We're not music snobs. We're just passionate music fans.

But why am I arguing with someone whose taste in music is as narrow as a nun's arsehole.

...okay maybe I am a snob!!
