Shamefully, I don't think I've even listen to 5 albums from this year

I bought the Jagwara one and that was about it I think (Should be getting Jake Bugg for Christmas)

I'm about 5 years behind everyone else when it comes to music. I bought quite a few albums whatever year it was that Foster The People came out with the one that had "Call it what you want" on it

A top 5 is nigh on impossible. I'll have to have a good look through my iTunes on my old laptop to jog my memory of what I've listened to this year.

Jagwar Ma? That was a good album.

Phosphorescent - Muchacho
King Khan and the Shrines - Idle No More
Kurt Vile - Wakin on a Pretty Daze
My Bloody Valentine - m b v
Arcade Fire - Reflektor

Honorable mention: Patty Griffin - American Kid

Either I'm getting old, or it was a relatively terrible year for music.

If I'm going to take a stab at this with little forethought:

The Joy Formidable - Wolfs's Law
Surfer Blood - Pythons
Frightened Rabbit - Pedestrian Verse
The Volcano Choir - Repave
Chvrches - The Bones Of What You Believe

Tough but here goes:

The 1975 - The 1975
The Naked and Famous - In Rolling Waves
Chvrches - The Bones Of What You Believe
Haim - Days Are Gone
Ellie Goulding - Halcyon

Not even arsed with that last one either. It's boss.

No particular order

Jake Bugg - Shangri La
Arctic Monkeys - AM
Sweet Baboo - Ships
Turin Brakes - We were here
Speedometer - Four Flights up

I know at least one of these deffo wasnt released this year but I did buy it this year, does that count ?

If it was ones I've bought this year I'd have a headache picking my top 5..
1. Sempiternal ~ Bring Me The Horizon
2. Conventional Weapons ~ My Chemical Romance
3.Feel ~ Sleeping With Sirens
4. Save Rock And Roll ~ Fall Out Boy
5. Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die ~ Panic At The Disco

Except the Sempiternal all the other albums have had infinitely better predecessors like The black parade, with ears to see and eyes to hear, folie a deux and a fever you can't sweat out

Have to throw in the Sky Ferreira album too. That's six. I'll have a proper list out by the end of the year. Will probably be a top ten though.

1. Protest the Hero - Volition
2. Letlive - The Blackest Beautiful
3. The Dillinger Escape Plan - One Of Us Is The Killer
4. Dream Theater - Dream Theater
5. Clutch - Earth Rocker

I'm sure the new Mastodon album would have made the top 5 had it been released this year. Honourable mentions to Stone Sour's House of Gold & Bones pt. 2 and The Safety Fire's Mouth of Swords. Most disappointing album, Korn's Paradigm Shift or the Marshall Mathers LP 2
