Recently, I heard an interview with the woman who sang the background vocals in Gimme Shelter ("Rape Murder"). Great story. Basically, she's woken up in the middle of the night and brought tons recording studio where she meets the Stones. They ask her to sing that part and she's like "What's this thing about?". They explain and then she absolutely nails it on the first take. Love that song.
