If he wants to go then it's wrong to stop him.
Is that the bloke who can't move his body or talk but has a completely able mind? I saw him on the news before if so, i also made sure my family aware that if anything like that happened to me then i'd rather die then be a prisoner in my own body.

I am of the opinion that if you are deemed to have mental capacity to make an informed choice after discussion with professional people ( psychologist, psychiatrist.....) then your wishes should be carried out.
Spot on mate. But what if you dont have the mental capacity, say a coma victim? At the moment, it seems the medical profession take the choice, DNR, not the families. They have to be consulted I guess, but cant suggest it. Seems wrong to me
It's different if you are in a situation such as a coma as then you could not be deemed to be of mental capacity and of having made the choice or decision on your own merits. Assisted suicide should only be performed where the person involved has made that decision themselves whilst fully compus mentas and in the company of approved proffesionals to witness the decision and coroborate the fact that the person at the time of making the decision was of full mind to do so.
