I think he thought people could be free in a socialist system as long as the politicians were accountable.

He was obviously wrong, but his stance on accountability was correct nonetheless.

He was a light weight trying to be a heavyweight, Did nothing in his political life that anyone could point to that had any game changing effect on this country.

AARRGGHH, you caught me there, can't believe it. And in answer to your question I am no fan of boxing or any other of those sports like cage fighting etc.
