Always knew that trash talking would pay off!

Tony Bellew’s next move after taking revenge on Nathan Cleverly will not be in pursuit of a world title but to Hollywood.

Bellew put British boxing’s bitterest of rivalries to bed with a convincing victory in front of his home fans in Liverpool. He will now turn his attention to the silver screen after landing a major role in the Rocky spin-off Creed.

The film, which will be shot in Las Vegas and Philadelphia, will chronicle the boxing career of Apollo Creed’s grandson Adonis, who will be played by Michael B. Jordan.

Sylvester Stallone will reprise his role as Rocky Balboa, trainer to Creed, and Bellew is set to play an opponent named Pretty Ricky Porter alongside unbeaten super-middleweight world champion Andre Ward.

‘I’m going to Hollywood on December 4 for an assignment,’ said a coy Bellew. ‘I’ve been sought-after for a long time. I hope it’s a speaking part because no-one wants to look at this face if I’m not talking. My life’s going to change.

‘I’ve had the contracts sitting in front of me for weeks because I wasn’t signing them. If this fight had gone wrong I wasn’t signing, I was going home to be depressed.

‘I can’t go into the details but let’s just say it’s big. It will be 40-odd days of filming, I just hope I can do it.'

You have to say, well played Tony lad!

It's in the Mail.

Not one word is true

Except there's a video on the article of Bellew's post fight conference where Bellew goes into detail about how it's all true and how he's headed to Hollywood in December to start the production.

It was also on Radio Merseyside's news bulletin this morning.

So it is true.

But it was in the Daily Fibber as well.

But it was in the Daily Fibber as well.

It's in all the papers, because Bellew himself said it & it's true. The story is great as well:

The Everton-mad fighter will play Pretty Ricky Porter, the main opponent for Apollo Creed's son who is being mentored by Sylvester Stallone himself in the big budget flick.

Bellew said: "I've got an assignment in Hollywood next.

"All I know is I'm close to agreeing and I've been sought after for some time. Life is going to change.

"To be honest the first time the film company called me, Everton had just lost 6-3 to Chelsea and the guy said, 'Do you want to be part of a Sylvester Stallone production?'.

"I just said, '[Poor language removed] off my team has just lost to Chelsea'.

"Then he phoned me again and said, 'This is for real'. I told him my team had just lost to Chelsea and if he phoned me again I would track his number and kick [Poor language removed] out of him.

"And he phoned again, 'Look, I'm not messing around, this guy saw you on the internet and wants you'.

"I thought it was a wind-up and that I'd arrive at the hotel to meet them and Jeremy Beadle would be there.

"I've had the contract sitting in front of me for weeks but I didn't sign it. If this Cleverly fight went to s**t and I lost, I was going home to be depressed. This meant everything for me."

think Michael Jordan might have the reach advantage on Tony tbh, seems odd for him to be fighting a basketball legend

Be a bit weird if Jeremy Beadle was there given that he's dead.

Watch out Beadles about, you better watch out cause Beadles about!!!

Even from the grave he is tricking people. Just a shame that he missed the social media / mobile explosion. That little hand of his could have been of use to impress the ladies
