Tony at centre half

There's no decision to make here: the season is a car crash anyway; just play the likes of Duffy and see what we have on our hands. And Duffy has charcter, he wont be overawed by taking on the responsibility. It's not as if Hibbert is an obvious CB replacement.

Why play a young player in his preferred position who has done well there last 2 games, when you can play a senior player out of position? Classic Moyes, whether it happens or not he is seriously considering it.

When you look at Tony and you think, he's coming back from an injury, maybe he's a little bit short of it, but then I've got a decision to make on Shane Duffy and you have to say, where is he? Where is he just now? He's done very well Shane but is he ready for the FA cup? So that's something we'll have to take a look at.

It's a no brainer really. Moyes has previously stated his concerns about Hibbert playing at centre-back.

"In the next game on January 1st (2011), against Stoke, Phil Jagielka, who had previously been ruled out with a long-term thigh injury, remarkably started the game. David Moyes cited Tony Hibbert’s small stature as the reason he decided to play an unfit Jagielka:

We needed him because otherwise we would have had to come here with Tony Hibbert at centre-half which against their size would have been really difficult."

With Heitinga not been the tallest, we'll need someone of Duffy's size beside him otherwise Dempsey and co are going to feast on crossed deliveries. Besides, Duffy's been very impressive in his recent appearances.

Will fume if he throws Hibbo at centre back. Duffy has looked solid so far so why take him out? Plus Hibbo returning from injury and won't be fit enough.

More fuel for the 'Moyes is actually sabotaging us' on purpose fire. He's already benched our top assist-provider (Drenthe), dropped our brightest young talent (Barkley) and left our top-scoring striker (Vellios) out altogether. It must only be a matter of time before he decides that Donovan is looking tired and needs a month on the sidelines.
