The officials at Goodison Park this season have been awful, I am not a fan of Martin Atkinson but today he was superb. Would give him 9 out of 10 today

^ That.

And no, I would give him an average rating because he was average, like all PL referees. He made some irritating decisions very early on.

i thought he did well tbf, that's probably a bit of bias. we escaped a couple of yellows, which although i don't believe they're yellow, should have been in this day and age.

though arsenal had a strong claim for a pen on AOC, but the replay shows he was probably justified.

Honestly, I think the ref was shocking, Lukaku's goal should of been disallowed because Naismith was interfering with play blocking sight of the goalie, not sure why Naismith wasn't booked when Osman and some arsenal player got booked for similar tackles, Barkley should of been booked for the push on Arteta, Sanogo's goal at the end was onside but wasn't given, think the penalty claims were all correct, none of them seemed like penalties but in the end the ref's decisions benefited us so I'm happy

Arsenal were denied a perfectly legitimate goal by the linesman and sonogo was ruled offside wrongly before that but scuffed it wide anyway.

I 100% agree with Herk, think he was awful today. I think we all have our blue tinted glasses on here, mainly because he gave us all the decisions really, i'd have been going mental if I was an Arsenal fan during that game, not just cos my teams [Poor language removed]!

Interesting points regarding the ref and indeed officials in general. I think they do go on how they are seeing a game develop. We are getting a bit more rub of the green due to trying to constantly play. Under Moyes we might try and hold on to a result so become more susceptible to poor refereeing.

I liked him because he let the game flow. Regarding penalties, wasn't that a blatant foul on McGeady near the end?

In most of our games maybe we have been hard done by in terms of decisions so when they actually go our way we give credit.

The foul on Ox was a penalty and Sagbo was onside, however i disagree that the second goal should have been disallowed, although i have seen them given.
