that 1st Torres goal was sweet, its an Everton forums, but i have to say, Torres is the best striker in the world.

the goals he used to score for Athletico Madrid were better, man this guy is waiting his potential to be on the history of football by staying in a club that is not winning anything.

that game at Turf Moor today was a bit unfair, the referee didn't seem that impartial, Rovers keeper collects the ball a yard outside the penalty area and the referee turns a blind eye, everyone must have seen it.

There was another incident where the ball clearly crossed the line by six inches, off the frame of the goal and it was totally missed by the official(s)

You needed a Collina type Ref for such a pivotal game between the two sides but they just had an ordinary type from what I could see.

a few weeks into the season burnley were doing so well, in the top half and beating all sorts at home and it's all gone wrong since there.

Might want to reconsider that in hindsight.

I'm aware of what happened, Villareal 2005, the Ferguson goal, but apart from that, or before it even, he was arguably the top referee in the world.

even the greats get it wrong sometimes, he did fowl up, it cost us dear in the end, it's water under the bridge now, there's nothing that can be done now, but up to then, he was the best choice to have in the middle.

Didn't he retire 6 months before Italian football imploded due to the massive corruption scandal that saw how many clubs relegated and banned from euro competition? Top referee where again?

Collina is, whether anbody wants to agree or disagree, is recognized as the best referee of all time.

that covers a lot of ground, but it does hold some merit, he was very organized and was a no nonsense official, I can't remember if he ever officiated a European final or such, he deserved to thats for sure.

no need to keep on here, yes he messed up with that Ferguson strike, but he's not the personification of evil for one mistake, we had to move on, and have, he is rightly or wrongly, perhaps at the top of world refereeing.

Have to agree with that.

anyone see the shape of burnleys goalposts on the replay, far from straight and in line, the crossbar was like a banana ffs, i'd say it was over but the actual goal should be set up a bit better than it was, looked like cheap placky drainpipe.
