Vietnam is a great place to travel, most people are extremely friendly to foreigners and will go out of their way to help. It's cheap, traveling once you get there is convenient, and everyone under 30 speaks a bit of English. If you sit in a park with a coffee or a book it won't be more than 20 minutes before someone asks if they can practice their English with you. If you drop in on an English-Speaking Club at a community centre you'll be like treated like a rockstar. Saigon is fine, but don't miss Hanoi... it looks like what most people have in mind when they are curious about traveling to Asia. Or try Hoi An or Phu Quoc for something more laid back.
