Cahill is NOTHING like Scholesy, he doesn't have the passing ability, or gingerness of Scholes.
See I dont understand why people want to get rid, I dont think we would get much money (if any) so whats the point? He still brings something to the squad and as this season has shown he isnt a definite starter anymore. Decent squad player I think now.
But Paul Scholes...he scores goals, Cahill doesn't.
Some of the anti-Cahill nonsense on this board is really worrying. Show some respect will you? We all know he's not the same player he once was, which is precisely why he's starting to not be as nailed on in the starting XI as he used to be, but to completely turn your back on the man is pathetic. He's been a credit to the club throughout his time here and will go down in history as a legend.

Cahill is possibly on too high a wage to be an impact sub in what is a cash strapped mid table team. He's probably on about £50/60k a week, a similar wage to what Pienaar would be on if we retained him. Does Cahill deserve to be paid the same as Pienaar? Personally I don't think so.
Pienaar deserves to be on double what Cahill is on in my opinion. I love the guy and he'll never be forgotten, but he shouldn't be kept in the team for sentimental value, we just can't afford it. Wouldn't it be best for him to move on while he's still got something to offer another team?
I'd defo have a tear in my eye if Timmy left though. Everton legend.

The wage bill.
