He's a big miss, only a few weeks ago people were calling for him to be sold. The same people were desperate for nev to return after injury and now **** him off though. We need our whole team fit and fighting for places

Can you back that up with quotes please.

Cheers.

I prefer Pienaar playing just behind our striker. We are more unpredictable and have better attacking variation.

He's a miss because we've become so accustomed to playing that 4-4-1-1 formation that suits him perfectly. We play to all his strengths and he gives the striker enough support in this role.

When Pienaar plays it becomes much more of a 4-5-1 and naturally, it's going to take a while to adapt to. You have to either stick with it or revert to type, and go down the easy route, the tried and trusted so to speak.

In the long term, for me, Cahill is another player that needs to be phased out the starting eleven. Whether that's for a pacy, direct striker in the Vaughan mould or a more creative second striker, that's up to Moyes. I think it's needed, we are a bit one dimensional at times.

If Yakubu is up there it becomes less of a problem because of his willingness to get involved in terms of link up play. Cahill can just concentrate on his own game, getting into the box and looking to get on the end of things. With Saha it's a bit different, Saha can hold the ball up, but he plays very centrally and isn't really what I'd consider a link man.
