What makes Nicklaus' record in majors even more impressive is that besides his 18 wins, he finished second 19 times.

Agree totally, particularly about Jack Nicklaus whose Major record will never be beaten in my opinion. Always been a huge Nicklaus fan, but even he came nowhere close to Severiano Ballesteros - the greatest golfer of all time.

I get that...and I won't disagree entirely. However, Tiger's flame burned a little brighter than the average...we all enjoy the sport more as spectators when he is being boss.

didn't know he was 39, thought he was younger... in a couple of years he will be a younger tom watson coming close but no cigar, then on to the seniors tour... still making the dosh
