A little surprised but not that much that the average ticket price for the PL is now £53. It's not right at all that certain clubs have let this go this way. When you add the other costs such as transport, food and drink it's very unfair. Hopefully something will be done about it at a government level perhaps.
£36 at Goodison must be one of the lowest based on that average figure of £53 although I'm not sure if this figure is based on the average of the highest priced tickets for all twenty clubs...

I paid £17 for a great seat in the Olympic Stadium, Berlin to see Hertha vs Stuttgart a couple of weeks ago, and on the way in they were handing out flyers to protest against rising ticket prices. The equivalent of £3.10 a pint too.

For a top game in a 75,000 seater newly renovated stadium in the capital city, that impressed me.

Would like to see a price cap across the board myself. Problem is the clubs all agreeing to it. Some of the London clubs pricing is just ridiculous not that they care. The policing costs for games is equally a tad ridiculous (maybe someone has figures for this) in my opinion as its kinda their JOB to police crowds of people regardless..maybe clubs could be appeased to an extent if these were reduced/eliminated..

Woolwich v Spurs is £64 for away fans.

I refuse point blank to pay it.

Transport and ticket to Anderlecht away is £121.

No brainer.

£53 at the pit or something, that's obstructed view ....as in cant see beyond half way.

Kopites like to protest about the cost of away tickets but they dont lobby their own club about the price of away tickets there.
If you look at that average price thing and list of prices there'll be no bigger price difference than Us & them, less than a mile away and a huge gulf in the pricing.

Goodison has some awful views with posts etc but that thing at QPR that blocks out the pitch makes you wonder how they can even charge for those seats, I wouldn't even want that for free & only pay the cost of getting down there for that view.

Of course when the next sky dosh increase kicks in all clubs will be using it to offset ticket prices rather than give it to players already on50+K per week.

I've already said in the today's football thread but I guess this thread would be more apt.

Perhaps I've been spoilt by the prices I paid for German togger a couple of weeks ago, out of the four games I attended the most I paid was €28 (so I guess about £20) for Hertha Berlin vs Köln and St Pauli Vs Duisburg. Union Berlin vs Fürth was €16.

To go and see my local none-league side would cost £14.

Football ticket pricing in this country is in a right mess and we're being fleeced, though of course you somewhat understand why the prices are relatively high in the lower leagues when it's their main source of income. The prices Premier League clubs charge is why I have declared to never again attend a Premier League game whilst the clubs continue to take the piss out of fans.

It's a large part of why I'd often rather go to a gig if it was a toss up between that and a football match. Both would cost me more or less the same for a day/night out. The major differences being that I've got a chance of fingering a girl at a gig, and there's a lot less knob heads too. Also there's more chance I'll actually enjoy it.

Bad armchair, me.

Only way clubs will pay attention to fans concern is by boycotting games. They won't give a toss about today's campaign as the fans will be attending.

germany's got it right, cheap booze cheap tickets and safe standing
The average Bundesliga ticket price at the beginning of the 2014 season was a very reasonable €23; less than half the Premier League average.

They rightly concentrate on attracting larger numbers in their attendance rather than extorting smaller numbers through higher prices.

I've been to a fair few Bundesliga matches over the years now, and overall they're far more enjoyable (and reasonably priced) experiences.
