love that qualified "non-NA teams", conveniently excludes the US knocking out Mexico in 2002.
hooray for wind-ups.

Can Costa Rica perhaps get a move to South America the way Australia went to Asia?
It seems unfair that they get so little challenge in their current confederation.
f it. done with wind-ups. may a ravenous Suarez corner the lot of you in a dark alley for some midnight noms.
That's something that @usasoccerguy would come up with.Christ, soon you'll be starting your own tournament up and calling it The World Series Of Soccer and claiming to be world champions of a national competition.

Proud of how the CONCACAF teams did this WC.
as far as I'm concerned, ANY KO round win for a CONCACAF side is something to be proud of.
remember, we're a weak federation that any mediocre Euro side could sleepwalk through. Or so i've read.
Oh, I agree.
Mexico have been to 15 world cups and only ever won 1 knock out round game.
The USA have been to 10 world cups and likewise only ever won 1 knock out round game.
If 'el ticos' can do the business against netherlands and win a second knock out game, we'll have done as much in this world cup as the two best teams in our federation have done in 26 world cups combined.
It's a very exciting time to be a north american football fan. I think we've all been waiting for that team to finally break that glass ceiling and match the europeans when it matters and I think we might just have one who can do it, now.
