Who's idea was that, anyway?
Bloody Jimmy Hill.
Bloody Jimmy Hill.
Good idea IMO.
Completely devalues being hard to beat, like we are at the minute, though. With two points for a win, we'd be title contenders.
It also prevents teams from playing 10 at the back.
It doesn't though. The game is much more defensive now then it was during the 30s and the 60s with the two points for a win system.

I think if you have the word Pool in your name you should be docked 50 points at the start of every Season.
even domestic football has largely moved on from the goal gluts of the two point era.
There is no evidence at all to argue that the game is more attacking now.
Definitely better 3pts instead of 2.
But what about this crazy idea? -1 for a loss
Draws would then still be rewarding, wins even more so, and a loss would be extremely painful. It means beating a team would put 4 points between us and them...high stakes!
Tho' might be counter-intuitive, as most teams are ****-scared of that, and end up playing for draws...
2 points for a win
Nothing for a draw
- 1 for a loss
Not sure it would improve anything, but it would p off fifa which can't be bad.
