Thoughts on Naismith and Mirallas??

Player Valuation: £25m
I know it's early days yet but I was just wondering what everyone thinks of the them so far.

I've been impressed with how they've both done.

Naismith: I don't think he's fully fit yet but he's impressed me with his passing, vision and the speed at which he seems to see things during a game. I'm not sure he's got the out and out place to cut it against every team on the wing, so I imagine he'll be used more in the centre, but I think he's going to be a really good player for us, as long as he can avoid injuries. I'm starting to see why he was so popular at Rangers.

Mirallas: Just like Naismith he needs to work on his fitness but he's already looking promising. He wasn't great in the the Villa game but he still got in a good position to score a goal, albeit that it was disallowed for offside and showed good movement, with a few nice touches.

I was impressed with him last night, yeah it was only against Leyton Orient but it was his technical skills and awareness of other players that makes me think he's going to be a great player for us. He scored 2 and set up 2 other goals and was unlucky not to have scored\setup even more.

What do you guys think?

As you say it was against a lower league team, but the touches and quality of passes between these two and Baines, Anichebe and Coleman looked promising.

On the night I was actually more impressed with Naismith (not that Mirallas wasn't good) because he never stopped working, looked for a forward pass and seemed to have good vision, when I wasn't expecting him to be 'great'. Thinking now he could be good for us and is only young.

Not Anichebe's biggest fan but I thought he did really well last night. Coleman played well too, nice step over before he crossed it for Geuye to fire in.

Naismith was awesome last night, a bit gutted he didnt get on the score sheet to boost his confidence even more tho.
His work rate was second to none and he probably still isnt 100% fit so that just shows you the potential we have got here.
I watched him a lot in the spl and for scotalnd as my old man is a jock and i was over the moon when we signed him and think he will get better being around the likes of pienaar, jelavic and mirallas.

Really? I thought Anichibe was horrible to watch last night.. But i am biased and dont rate him and never will.
Coleman impressed me again tho, hope he proves himself this season.

Naismith is underrated in terms of his off the ball movement. He constantly gets into space in "the gap" if you know what I mean.

Mirallas is going to be a game changer but it's all about consistency with him. He got a lot right yesterday but he had the odd clanger too.

I think they're both really good additions to the squad overall. Beats having McFadden and Kilbane anyway.

Didn't get to see last night's game but I thought Mirallas did a good job positioning himself vs Villa, he seems to have a knack to getting to goal which is one of those qualities that's some players are just born with.

I thought that Naismith would play behind Jelavic and that Mirallas would be a flying right winger, but it looks like Moyes is using them the other way round. They both seem to be exciting options. If we can build up a bit more squad depth and variation in the attacking department over the coming seasons we could be a very handy outfit indeed.

Mirallas is gonna be superb, hes gonna try sexy things, some things will come off, others wont, but the lad is full of himself and not in a bad way, he looked a real team player and think he will fit in superb and be a great player, kneejerk I know, but fck it.

Naismith didnt stop all game, so much energy, always trying to keep the ball ticking over, some great little touches.

I mean yeah it was a League One side, but they impressed me loads, same with Gueye.

So far so good really.

Both look like they could be great assets to the team but its only 3 games into the season. Promising stuff though, real buzz to the start of this season for once.

What defenders are going to want to face Jelavic, Mirallas, Pienaar and Naismith? Hopefully we can get the likes of Anichebe, Vellios and Gueye firing too to come off the bench and make something happen in tight games.

Yeah, I did too.

It's going to be interesting to see how Moyes uses them over the course of the season. One thing's for sure their versatility is going to really benefit us when we get hit by injuries.

I wonder if we'll see Mirallas played alongside Jelavic at any point.

Piennar LW, Naismith RW, Fellaini\Osman AM with Mirallas + Jelavic upfront would be pretty scary to line up against if you're a defender.

Remember this time last year when every defender in the league was made up to face Cahill and Saha?
