This is the father of one of the 4 boys who was killed.

The Israel Defense Forces said that the children were misidentified as "fleeing fighters". This is what creates terrorists and extremists.

@SteKelly - your argument doesn't take into account that these kids and families live in a place which is effectively a constant warzone in a sieged area of the world.

To stop kids playing, you'd effectively have to keep them indoors their entire life and, even in the context of Gaza, it's not a daily expectation that a rocket will drop on them on a beach.

@Brennan Answer my question Brennan.

Your city is getting bombed, would you let your child out of your sight?

"We're told that the children were children of fishermen from the port, who were scavenging metal to feed their families"

These people were out there trying to find things to simply survive the next few days or weeks. Your ideals about childcare are redundant.

Regardless of your views on the subject (who's right/who's wrong), Israel is using disproportionate force against Palestine and is only making the issue worse because of it. These sickening attacks will only breed more terrorists and I don't blame any family member of these children for a minute should they harbour any animosity towards Israel. Poor children. RIP.

There was a time long, long ago Britain wouldn't see people persecuted like this. Sickening.
Last crisis in Gaza the tv media in Britain were told not to give any airtime to humanitarian crisis appeals. The Israeli lobby pulling the strings. What a spineless bunch of [Poor language removed] they are in this country.

When exactly was that mate? I'm not sure we've ever done it unless it benefitted us have we? Just around the time we never intervened in Zimbabwe yet couldn't wait to get into Iraq told me everything I need to know about ours and America's foreign policy.

I've read the previous pages, so before this turns into a political argument, I'm playing the no politics card lads.

I'm 100% sure we all agree that this has been a sad and tragic event, so let's leave it at that.
