Noticed recently that plenty of fans of other clubs are pinning their hopes on it.

Does anyone really know what sort of impact it will have? I mean, it sounds good from the offset as it might reverse the balance. It's been beards since a club has finish in the top three from nowhere, and it used to happen a lot of more often in the 70s/80s.

I'm pessimistic though, I reckon they'll find some way of preserving the order of money being the dominant player in the game.

It is UEFA that have caused it all as well though, as teams chase that golden egg of the champions league, they created a system whereby THEY have the best league in europe that everyone wants to be in.
the amounts that teams spend in pursuit of the glory of getting into the qualifying round, probably means that they have to go far in the comp to get near to recouping it, then the amounts they have to spend to get c.l. quality players to maintain it is again vast.
There was always talk of a euro league, and thats exactly what UEFA created to run alongside the national leagues. Maybe they are getting bored of the same teams qualifying and think that it's time for some fresh faces ? The seeding system will still be in favour of the same faces in the last 8 though.

It won't completely change things.

It will even things out more including limiting salaries across the EU, and player transfer fees.

It will force teams to spend on assets and infrastructure (i.e. the fans) rather than the players.

I like the idea.. Without something in place, Football could collapse.

All that would be left is the MLS, with it's sound financial structure still in place. ****ty football, mind.

What about salaries how does it affect that?

To be honest with our current situation will it even matter to us anyway?! We can't afford to buy players, we're looking at pre contracts for bosman's to tie down in the summer?!

Was a believer in it...but I dont think it'll change much.

You're top 4 will always be the clubs that have spent money and clubs will always find ways to make sure they appease the regulations in some form or another.

The only way it'll make an impact if it affects one of the big clubs like Inter, Barca, Real, Chelsea, United etc and they arent allowed to play in Europe...

That wont happen.
