Although not a popular man, I'm actually with Cameron all the way on the recent veto of a new euro treaty. Good for him, granted I understand he is simply protecting his wealthy friends in the city but as a fringe benefit it should mean the rest of the country isn't plundered by Brussels either.
What it does do though is play into the hands of his Euro sceptic back benchers that have been pushing for a referendum on whether the UK stays a part of Europe such as it is.

Finally, isn't it rather rich of the Eurozone to try and carve the uk up with new financial rules and taxes to get themselves out of trouble, and now proclaim us 'outsiders' and 'peripheral' - Well excuse me, but had they had their houses in order in the first place they wouldn't need to be clutching at financial straws like they are now, so as long as we look after ourselves first, Europe can flounder on and address its own mistakes.

For my money, and europe isnt my strong suit Cameron has done more damage to the country with this move than good,he will be forced to go back within months to try and get a few crumbs they now offer us becuase and in this global economy he will have to go back becuase on our own we will sink and sink fast.

The fact that Cameron isnt liked by many of the tory MP's so this move seems on the outside at least nothing more than a sop to them my biggest fear is that he doesnt realise the scale of what he's done here and thats frightening becuase the longer we stay out of the loop the more isolated we will become and when the crap hits the fan i cant wait to see how the Mail and the Sun spin it then as it seems to me they're the only papers who think its a good idea.

Europe can now offer those bankers, the very ones Cameron (and Labour to be fair)are in thrall too very nice offers to work in say france, germany etc time will tell but an offer for them to go i would suspect is in the offing right now.

As far as i'm aware we havent left the EU so i suspect money thats to be paid by britian will still need to be paid and its in absolutly no ones interest for the Euro itself to fail, though i wouldnt put money against it happening whatever the outcome of friday.

Europe pays a lot of cash into this country thats a fact look at a nice shiny new building that on the patch of scrubland chances are it'll have been built using some form of euro cash but the press chooses to concentrate on silly stories of sausages being too long of banana's being yellow to get in the way of good it does,i think the Euro itself is sadly flawed mainly becuase it expanded far too fast.

So what of the coalition i suspect that too is doomed Clegg was and is a europhile and surely cant bat this away as a good thing for the country or his party so i suspect that we'll have an early election probablly in 2013 and yet another hung parliament i suspect

Good for you guys. i hate this...france and germany are using this situation to swoop more power to them selves. finland is at the moment only EU country against the system what france and germany are pushing through. (taking down unanimious decisionmaking in EU)
Europe is turning into federal state. EURO is gonna go down at some point. I hope. system of a down ffs.

He's looked down one path and thought it looks a bit iffy, so chosen the other one even though he can only see half way down it.

Big risk. Time will tell if it was the right choice. The rest of Europe certainly won't forget what he did.

Neither option looks particularly good.

Meh. I don't really know much about politics. All I know is that I don't see why he is so hated. Seems like a fairly likeable guy to me. I know some of you scousers will laugh at that, the whole conservative thing or whatever, but I don't find him objectionable. I definatly think he was being sincere with this at least anyway.

I wonder what Sarkozy would do if anyone said to him that the CAP needed reforming? Or the Germans if you said that manufacturing should have a levy imposed on it? Sure they'd sit there and take it.

if i would be brittish i would be proud.

i two years the whole union is in crumbles, big ones are ruling over smaller, it just doesnt work. for us, anyways.
we have a saying
when the cranes are dancing, the sparrows are getting trambled...or something shidd like that.

We were being stitched up by France and Germany to help pay to save the Euro. Cameron had no choice. Even the French leader of the opposition says it's crap and he will renegotiate if elected. France is in deep sh.ite economically and has driven everyone to this spot to force the Germans to either underwrite the bailouts or to get the ECB to jump in as lender of last resort which the Germans are dead against. If France has it's triple A rating reduced Sarkozy is toast in next Aprils elections and that is what is driving him to push for this in this way. Getting rid of the UK is a bonus as this will give France even more power in Europe. We are well out of it tbh, we pay in far more than we get out and we have a trade deficit with a Europe that is more concerned with inward political manoeuverings than being outwardly competitive.......imo

How very dare you post a pic of a frenchman with a lady that isn't his wife. They'd be up in arms if they had any.
