WELL SOMETIMES I DO 7-7 WITH AN HOUR TRAVELLING EITHER SIDE BRUV.

Just not recently.

I feel your pain brother.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah, the bad memory you just dragged up of working in Wrexham 7-7 with an hours travel each way on some crazy rotating shift pattern....

work mon, tues, fri, sat, sun, wed, thurs then repeat on nights. being off for 2 shifts on nights then back in was an absolute killer regarding sleep adjustment. Money was good though, but alas 9/11 ended that.

5-6am start is my usual start time you soft lads.

well clearly if you had been returning from a 12 hour night shift and been coming down Thelwall at rush hour, and kind of nodded off for a second, then I think you would have a different opinion regarding the effects of shift working.
It meant that the adrenalin from the incident then stopped me from sleeping when I got home as well, I was a bag of nerves tbh and next shift was redbulled up like cahill at training. The announcement that very night that they were halting the shifts was just what I wanted to hear. They didn't give us the required notice period though, and also refused to pay the amount that contractually they had to (no loss of earnings during that 4 weeks), the bashtards did me for about £1500, and 5 weeks later I was signing on. Union ? waste of space... they owe you but we have bigger amounts to chase at BAE so on your own lad, here's the small claims forms, fill em in and you will win but the court won't be able to enforce the payment.

wages went from £620 a week on shifts to taking home less than £200 on days, then living off my PPI which made me better off than working days tbh, much better off.

Yep, I sat on my arse and ripped the PPI to the max. So you can all stop the phonecalls now you tits.

Aye, the Unions are pathetic over here like. Night shift is a killer, reckon it takes 10 years off your life if you do it long term, not for me. Getting up at 5am is sweet for most of the week, starts getting to you by Thursday though.

I think a local 6-2 job would be ok.

Both Worked 4-12 at 1st in Christchurch, quite often until 2 or 4 or even 6. That was a boss shift for us tbh as we had most of the day to sort shiz out. If I finished at 12 I would be up 'til 3 or 4 though as the bike ride home would get me awake. Used to only sleep 5 or 6 hours back then, sleep more now but could live with less, never tired when I go to bed.

Yeah I'm usually done by 3-4pm, to be honest it's pretty good especially in summer as you get a good 5 hours of daylight to head to the beach/play golf/drink beer etc.

Shaved my top lip
Same here.

And night shifts. Re: nights, as above- I've not done a night shift since February. Actually changed workplace in July to knock them on the head and it's been the best thing I ever did.

At one point, I was doing 7 nights on, 7 nights off. Total killer. The first night, you think 'man, I'm here all week'. The week off, by the time you adjust back, it was Thursday before I saw daylight again.
