There's a distinct lack of the balance I asked for - people saying what's better now. Says a lot. Modern life is truly poop.

I'm sure if you sent a bunch of today's youth/under 30/40s back to the 60s/70s/80s they would probably find plenty of things about today's world that are much better. Especially those who are not straight white males!

A sense of community or in person interaction. I walk around and see people glued to their phones, little talking going on.

From personal experience I think the Internet , smart phones and social media has changed some folk and not for the better. Or maybe these tools we use highlight better what some are really like, good and bad. Strange times .
