Theory Test

Check your mirrors lots, even when you're not really looking just move your head as if you're looking, obviously don't overdo it as they don't let epileptics drive. Other than that just keep an eye out for other tits doing stupid things in front of you, some idiot broke right in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes, but because it made the person behind me slam on their brakes the bitch did me for causing another vehicle to taken evasive action or something like that. Remember your indicators and take your indicator off when you've finished and just general observation and control of speed and all that bollocks.

This, massively. Also be aware of cars at T junctions/crossroads or at a drive because they may well pull out when you least expect it, that happened to me when I had my test within 2 minutes of my test. Also remember to indicate for cyclists as well.

Weird that this thread was one I started and never got back to and I've got my practical tomorrow and was gonna start a new one. Any advice lads? First practical test!

Look up. Look as far ahead down the road as you can - the earlier you can see things, the less chance there is that anything can surprise you.

Make sure you're happy with your mirrors and seat before you start the car.

Remember at all times that all other drivers are utter, utter weapons.

Listen to the engine - the noise will tell you if you need to change gear, or slow down.

Don't ****ing let any buses out.

What about coping with nerves? Other than neck a short.

Not a lot you can do really mate, I was bricking it right up until we set off, and most of the way through the test to be fair. If you're able to get a drive in this afternoon for a last bit of practice then I'd do that but just listen to what you're being told to do and try and make a bit of polite conversation with the instructor, that helped me not think of the pressure so much.

If you notice they've failed you before you get back to the test centre then obviously pull over somewhere secluded and do your worst.
