Even when I was a kid these places gave me a bitter sweet feeling.
I love seeing the animals but they should be free.

i get what you are saying but they also provide a useful method of trying to stop species from dying out. We go Chester a couple of times a year, great day out but can get abit pricey

There's nothing right about being a puppet master with animals and caging them.

Probably most of the animals in there were born there and they are well looked after them people are very dedicated to their job

Its alright for you mate I don't live that far that from the Zoo I don't want Gorillas Lions and Tigers roaming the streets by my house.

...always liked visiting Chester Zoo when the kids were little. Ideally animals should prosper in their own environment but from what I see, Zoo's do a lot for the conservation of rare species so I suppose the ethical view is changing.

When you see the amount of conservation zoos do its difficult to say its wrong,no animals shouldnt be caged but they shouldnt be hunted to extinction either,while mankind flourish animals wont

Didnt a white rhino have his horns chainsawed off in some zoo recently.


zoos now getting poached!
