You could always try and negotiate down a bit on the fee.
First gig I ever worked at was Black Sabbath (Heaven and Hell tour, RIP Ronnie). The backstage alcohol for them was probably more than £6k.

Good stuff. Fancy singing I am a Cider Drinker ?

Used to be my party piece in the style of the late Adge Cutler. If Cutler was still alive and with them then yes it would be worth it alas he isn't. The trouble is they are now a five piece aren't they, that works out at less than £1000 each when the agent has taken his 20%+, it also sounds like they are bring their ladies with them. Ferry and flights can be discounted by the travel firms via the Tourist Board. Try offering £4K and shop round for the travel costs...............what venue is to be used and would O'Kells offer sponsorship, if not them then any island cider producer

On a serious note, they used to gig in and around Bristol all the time when I lived down there a few years back. Might it be an option to look into whisking your missus off for a surprise weekend trip to the West Country featuring a Wurzels gig (if they are playing anywwhere)?

Just an idea, like. Feel free to ignore / rubbish.

a surprise whirlwind trip to Bristol inclusive of Wurzels gig ? surely every woman's dream ?

Ahh, The Wurzels thread! At last!

They are ace live, and a real good laugh. We pick up Chickens from their managers house a few times a year, who lives nearby. He is a decent bloke as well.

£6k is a bit steep though, but they are usually busy this time of year.

Mate they are ripping you off- I booked them for an event in August for £4k inc VAT. They have a weird rider though of 17 cans of premium lager, 24 cans premier cider, 8 dairy milks. Weird.

they pull in the crowds though
