As mentioned above Wales and Wallasey are derived from the old Germanic word for strangers or foreigners. As a bonafide Welshman do you lay claim to the Wirral peninsula and it’s capital Wallasey, which literally means land of the Welsh?
The Welsh name for the Wirral is Cilgirw (a mythical blackbird) Birkenhead in Welsh is Penbedw.
The annual Eisteddfod of 1917 was held in Birkenhead and is probably the most famous of all these events.
Hedd Wyn the winning poet was awarded the bardic chair for his poem Yr Arwr (the Hero). Nobody knew at the time of the judging that he had been killed at the battle of Passchendeale, shortly after submitting his entry and a few weeks before the event.
