The Window - were we undone today by a Psychology thing??

We had a bad day yesterday, our passing was pretty awful - even our more consistent players couldn't string any passes together and once Gibson went off, it felt like things got worse. Like Daveyg said, I'd have pushed Fellani back once Gibson went off. Whilst Neville and Hibbert are not the only ones to blame for us losing, they shouldn't be playing in the same side together especially when there are better options on the bench.

It has nothing to do with any strange psychological transfer window happenings and more to do with us just not turning up and West Brom being in good form (and at home). I think people got alittle too carried away with our first couple of wins, you could pretty much look through the entire fixtures and believe we can and should be winning most of them, but the reality is every team has bad days, no matter how good they are. If we won all the games we think we should be winning we'd be title contenders. That doesn't excuse the players though, they really did have a poor game which was frustrating to watch from start to finish.

Back to the training ground to work on that passing and link up play.

If we were undone by anything, it will be that Steve Round probably took most of the training sessions this week while Moyes was tirelessly working to bring in players. Keeping the same routine in a winning dressing room is key, and although Round said he was going about training the same way that Moyes would, he just doesn't strike me like a hard task master in the way that Moyes does. It must have also got into the minds of the players that the signings were more important than the game on Saturday as Moyes was away schmoosing all the agents he could get into bed with. I think this disruption to normal preparations has part responsibility for the fact we were a bit lacklustre and am surprised nobody has mentioned it.

Thats part of the point I was trying to make at the start - obvious disruption which could of been the root of the crap yesterday - and who knows the effect it all has on the individuals heads???

and whilst the point has been made that EVERYONE has to deal with the Window - its not as simple as that. Not everyone has the same pressures and concerns that our club has - and not everyone at every club has the same pressures and concerns that our individuals have.

Personally I think it paid a big part yesterday as they were all crap!

We are weak, clueless and vulnerable without Darron Gibson, it is as simple as that.

Hopefully Gibbo comes back soon, but wait until the next time he has an injury, it will be the same old story.

Nothing to do with the transfer window.

Have you not seen Ofoe play yet?? I think he is more than capable of filling Gibson's role, and more. It wasn't the problem so much with Gibson going off yesterday, it's who filled in for him "Phil Neville". I like Neville as a leader but question his ability at times. I can't see him getting a game once Ofoe breaks into the starting XI.

Have you seen Ofoe play in the premier league? He hasn't even officially signed for Everton yet.

I agree that Fellaini should have dropped deeper upon Gibson's injury, but lets not pretend that Fellaini dropping deep changed an awful lot. We were still easily second best once he dropped deeper.

Everton with/without Gibson are two totally different prospects.

Of course i haven't seen Ofoe play in the Premier League but i am certain he will adapt, and quickly. It's all to easy to blame the lacklustre performance on Gibson's departure. We may well have lost had he played the full 90. What i am saying is Moyes now as deent cover as Ofoe is pretty much a done deal.
