Found this via FB/Reddit. The Premise is thus:

Starting with the first ever Football League champion - Preston North End in 1888/89, who went through the entire season undefeated - the UFLC is contested in a boxing-style knockout competition. The team that beats the current unofficial champion then becomes the champion.

So the first team to beat PNE (League games only) would become the Unofficial Champion, and then whomever beats them etc etc. The current champion is Brighton & Hove Albion. There is also an Unofficial Premier League Championship, although that doesn't seem to have been updated this season, and an Unofficial Football World Championships.

So far we are way out in the lead as the All Time Champions :)

All Time Champions
1 Everton 86
2 Aston Villa 74
3 Manchester United 72
4 Arsenal 70
5 Liverpool 66

Not having this part about the Premier League belt not being in the Premier League. If Newcastle had to give it back to the team they took it from when they got relegated, it goes back to Swansea, and then:

  • Swansea lost 2-0 to Hull on 20 August
  • Hull lost 0-1 to Man United on 27 August
  • United lost 1-2 to City on 10 September
  • City lost 2-0 to Spurs on 2 October
  • Spurs lost 2-1 to Chelsea on 26 November
Chelsea haven't lost since so they are the holders.

In the "belt can't leave the Premier League" version it's back in Spurs' hands, they beat Chelsea last week and haven't lost since.
