Did anybody watch the season premiere?

If so what did you think of the new 1 round to get into the house format? I'm not sure i like it as some fighters are slow starters but obviously if you get k.o'd or submitted then it doesn't matter. I think if they are going to use the one round format then the refs need to be breaking up wrestlers who lie on top for 5 mins for me thats not mma.

It's a bit early for predictions and like I said you can't judge on 1 round even if there was an 8 second and 24 second ko.

Liverpool lad Mark Grove didn't make it into the house but for me he was one of the ones who was beaten by a point fighter(surprisingly(not) out of Gregg Jacksons notorious boring point fighting camp) who layed on him most of the round, although he was a bit reckless when he did get an opportunity to strike.

There is still a geordie boy in their so be rooting for him.

Finally who do you think will win the rubber match between Faber n Cruz, I hope Faber does as i'm not a fan of Cruz's style he's not a finisher and his fights all go the distance because of that even though he is elusive and has excellent movement he doesn't hurt people.

Anyway anymore MMA fans thoughts please.

Yeh I watched it mate, thought it was an excellent idea and they had to do it because them fight were live in the US.

I like faber as well hope he wins but I cant see it, Cruz to take home the UD quite easily I think as well.

Yeah it was on ESPN here as well i think.

I like the live shows idea every friday too should be interesting.

i liked the one round format it made for an exciting show. some big hitters in there but i was really impressed with the 4th dan BJJ fighter and the karate fella with the fancy kicks. looking forward to this series should be good. My only gripe is the amount of tv time all the in house arguing and fighting gets. i used to enjoy it more when it concentrated on the fighters training.

I don't think it will be like that now FOX has got hold of it for mainstream tv i think it will want to show MMA in a good light and clean up the broadcast so you should prefer it.

I won't discuss what happened in this episode for a couple of days incase some people haven't seen it yet.

I'm sure my question will not give anything away. My sky plus ended before the final fight pick, who was the fighters.

Obviously dont say what team or who picked first as it will ruin the episode for others.
