The Today Programme

Radio 4's iconic morning news strand Today always features a slot called Thought for the Day at about 7.50. I usually listen to it on my way to work.

Anyone else notice that this morning (24th Sept) it mentioned Everton Football Club? Must be a first - although the mention of us was hardly complimentary.

I never listen to it, prefer to wait for womans hour! The talk radio stations in the morning are just people arguing loudly.

Not really, the guy was talking about the Robot World Cup - no nothing to do with Peter Crouch....but an international competition in robotics. He said that some robots are so sophisticated now that they can reason, exchange information, plan and....."beat the entire Everton Football Team...."

Which is probably true.....even for my sons battery driven robot....

Then went on to say that the Quran (spelt that wrong haven't I?) describes all humans as unique as opposed to robots.....

Woman's Hour....I'm reaching for the off switch already....drives me nuts that programme
