The Thing we Dare not Speak of

More convinced than ever today that we are ready to make the next step up.

Personally, I think we're ahead of Spurs and Villa as we've got a great foundation at the club (leaving aside the finances of course) of a very good youth system and quality youngsters coming through.

Villa and Spurs have to splash the cash at every opportunity and these purchases are always risky - players may not settle or come to terms with the Premiership.

We on the other hand will always be bringing good kids through who have the Moyes doctrine instilled in them already.

OK, I'm being idealistic. But we're very, very close now. We need to keep Saha, Pienaar and hopefully Donovan. We can deffo challenge the top teams next season.

Just think, if we continue on this trajectory, one day Moyes will watch an Everton captain (maybe Rodwell) walk on to the Goodison turf and accept the Premiership trophy. We'll be champions again.

I can hardly contain my excitement...
