The teenagers.

I hope they get a chance to play a bit in the Under-23s and continue honing their skills because up till now they've been on board a sinking ship. They're all good players.

It won't happen, of course. Life's tough in the Prem.

..I think it’s a difficult one because I think all players will be under the microscope regardless of age. The players you would expect Allardyce to favour are the hard working, good professionals yet he got a tune out of Diouf and Anelka. He took a chance on flair players like Okocha.

I doubt he’s had a group of young players available at clubs he’s previously managed.

You would hope they will be used wisely.

At the end of the day, we are never going to compete with too many youngsters involved at all once, we need a good balance as the premier league is very unforgiving.

Although strictly speaking they are not all teenagers it will be interesting to see what the future holds now for Kenny, Holgate, Dowell, Baningime, Davies, Lookman ,Vlasic and DCL ?
The future will be them forming the basis of the team that wins der league in two seasons time!

I think it will tell us a lot about Sam as a manager as well.

In previous jobs he was fire fighting from the first moment he took the job and avoiding relegation was the only target. He has the possibility of a longer contract at Everton better players than he has had before in particular if you add back McCarthy, Coleman, Bolasie and maybe Barkley and probably a generous transfer budget as well.
All of this presents him with an opportunity to develop the team in a way that was not possible in recent jobs that he held.

Allerdyce won't be here next season so I'm not overly concerned about that yet.

Kenny is safe. Davies seems to be an all energy type Allerdyce player and will do a job if you tell him, so he'll play if not start. I think if you play Rooney in midfield you have to surround him with legs, and Davies fits the bill. Beni, not sure, but like Davies I think he'll play a role, maybe not a leading one obviously. Niasse will start upfront the rest of the way, and DCL will probably be an impact sub, maybe starting occasionally. No clue of Vlasic. Lookman is probably going to struggle for time.

The words experience, reliable, hard working and disciplined all spring to mind.

We'll see.

I’m pretty sure they’ll still have a role to play. BSA recalled Pickford from his loan at PNE for Sunderland and did play the odd kid there - just so happens that the clubs he’s been at perhaps don’t have good enough kids...

A good question, think Allardyce has shown in the past not one for giving young players a chance but preferred to stick to mature experienced players.
