The only way I could describe Wigan's tactics today. They slowed the game down to a ridiculous pace(just like Davis does/did when playing snooker) The problem we had today as opposed to against villa was Wigan did not come to win today. Knowing we had Cahill and Osman upfront enabled Wigan to play a high line and suck the life out of the game.
Lets be honest here, this is exactly the type of game we drew last year with no idea how to break down a team that came for a draw. We got out of this particular snooker(to continue the analogy!) by way of substitutes that could actually offer us somthing different. High line from Wigan so on came the pace to exploit it. It may not feel like it but there was alot to be pleased with today.

I think they were just holding a deep balkline until they could get a break. They struggled to play the ball in behind the blue today though. On another day we could have doubled the score. Snooker.

Exactly.

We'll do the exact same next week against city, like we did at their place last season.
