Ok, I'm going to open myself up to a bit of ridicule here, but, hey ho. When I was a five year old kid, I actually used to support ^&&^&%*%$, for one season, I have sketchy memories of them winning the European cup. In fact, I'm not even sure I had even heard of Everton. Then came the derby in 1984, and Sharps goal. After that, I never looked back. Once Everton touches you and all that! Was wondering if anyone else would admit to 'switching sides'?. Or what made you first support Everton? Sure glad I om old enough now to remember the good times!! Despite the derby curse striking again, got a good feeling about this one!! COYB!!!!!!

I was born. That's what made me support Everton. In all honesty, both my mum and dad came from big family's and they were all mad Evertonians, so as soon as I was born I was only ever going to be a blue. Even as a really young child growing up in the 70s, the idea of supporting Liverpool was just alien to me.

On Tue 10th April 1979, I went to my first Everton match at Goodison and that was that, no turning back.

My dad, who is a blue, took me to watch both, as that seemed to be normal back in the day.

It was in the mid / late seventies.

We were proper rubbish and they were wining everything.

He never put any pressure on me and I chose us, due to the ground, the crowd and just everything to do with the club.

I remember standing in the Anny Rd end and hating it.

That was it for me, never regretted it to this day ;)

I'm the opposite. I'm the youngest of seven children including 3 older brothers. All of them are reds. My dad was more of a rugby person but his natural affiliation was to the RS, as was my old Irish mum for no other reason than it was my dads preference.

Luckily my paternal grandfather (affectionately known as Pop) was a blue. He ingrained in me from a very early age the meaning of being a blue. So much so that as long as I can remember, I have always supported Everton. My older brothers all tried to get me to convert to the dark side. One even took me to the pit for a couple of games when I was 11. He gave up once he realised my head wasn't going to be turned.

When I was 14, my parents allowed me to go to the game on my own (I lived in South Liverpool) and I attended Goodison for the first time in 1975.;)

My dad was a devout red, grew up playing for Lpool boys, he moved to the US before I was born, when we moved back to Liverpool he took me to my first match, when I was 8, stuck me in the boys pen, got me program nicked. Next week Me uncle took me to Goodison, the Street End. Gordon West became my hero. Played in goal ever since. Never looked back. I must say It broke me dads heart.

Had a mate from a proper rabid red house
At about the age of 15_16 used to go to watch us amongst the other scallies in the park end /enclosure and he used to celebrate with us
Does that count?

I can relate to a derby winner drawing you to Everton. Campbell clinched my support in 99. I suspect I must have just loved how upset Everton had made my classmates (all kopites) in primary school the next morning. One actually burst into tears when I brought the game up. Apparently I was a quite twisted and evil child. #BornToBeBlue
