As far back as I remember, I used to buy scarfs with "The School Of Science.." down the side with Everton down the middle. Got about 6 or 7 from the late 80's and early 90's, which made me proud, ever since understanding what it means.

With the unique and exciting brand of football we play currently, has the "School Of Science.." been long forgotton ??

Should Everton drop it all together for good??

Let's face it, our football is poor. I'd love to ask David Moyes if he thinks he is worthy to be a teacher at the school of science with his tactics and team selections.

My auntie and uncle came with me to the Stoke game, (my uncle being a friendly and sound red nose and auntie impartial ) and hadn't been to Goodison for 30 years. They were pretty shocked at the crumbling stadium, poor football, lack of atmosphere, and no support for the team.

I had to explain, we need the team to make us animated, not the other way round, whether it be right or wrong.

It was embarrassing and sad, as I sat looking at the main stand and started thinking back to sitting there with my arl fella and going mental when THAT Osman goal against Larissa hit the back of the net. The positivity and excitement in the air was superb all through that campaign. Even Big Vic was boss.

For a small time, I foolishly thought the School Of Science had reopened it's doors.

Silly me.

My question is, does the School Of Science mean anything any more???

I feel like Moyes traded it for his 'Peoples Club' slogan. It doesn't matter how crap we play as the people on the streets support Everton and all Liverpool fans are Norwegians.

Sad really.

The goal vs Larissa has gotta one of my fave Everton goals of my lifetime.

Moyes needs to change his tactics mate.

Don't suppose you're in pc mode are you mate, can't link the YouTube vid.

What a goal tough. We played some great footy against Sporting Lisbon at Goodison as well. I remember watching it at home on the telly thinking..."we're incredible, super footy..."

I always hate it when people put in stupid intros to videos, and even more so when they overlay music, but this one was the best quality.

that season we played some lovely stuff. unfortunately the best stuff ive seen in my lifetime, and i expect that that will stay the same for a while. since losing pienaar and teta we haven't any fluidity. we look piss poor and play ****e football... so disappointing when you consider that that was only like 2-3 seasons ago.

Peaks and troughs mate, peaks and troughs. We're in a trough at the moment and can see sod all on the horizon. Things change when you least expect it. The School of Science might just be round the corner or might be years away.

Dunno how old you are but the midfield of Steven, Bracewell, Reid and Sheedy was awesome too, but didn't last for ever and we ended up in a dark place. Everything changes, the school will re-open and we'll all be smiling again.

Gawd knows when though.

Cheers mate. I hear ya.

Just wish there was a way of safeguarding us playing good football as a benchmark. In the last 3 years it's gone from one extreme to another. Hard to swallow.

These things tend to sort themselves out. As Saha, Neville, Cahill ( to a lesser extent ) etc age and retire or are, even to Moyes, obviously past it then, sooner or later, our academy lads will have to be played. They might screw up and lose us some games, but they'll be keen and there's some talent in the academy so, although we might not be challenging for anything, at least there'll be some enthusiasm and skill coming through.

In the meantime, keep away from sharp implements.

Our older players are becoming far too predictable. At least the opposition knows little about our youngsters. The element of surprise is a secret weapon. Sharp object wise, I'll stay away I promise lolol.

*drinks bleach.

School of Science has long since closed its doors. We are now a modern trendy academy specialising in dross hoofball.
