Power level over 9000
Forgot how good this program was, never fails to make me laugh, Ricky Tomlinson may be a bit of a pleb but the program itself is gold

it was and interesting concept when it first came out, quite well written, probably resonated with a lot of families especially from the north

the humour dried up relatively quickly though

Love it - but it always strike me how thay never talk about football or soaps. I understand why, like, but still.... You'd have thought Jim and Twiggy would at least get ribbed a bit for being Scouse.

I'd go along with all that. I reckon it went on too long, was good 2000 and before.

I always thought that.

The football being avoided I can understand, but there's not even any jokey Scouse v Manc humour at all, and that'd have worked on both sides in the M62.

Anything I see of Craig Cash's I seem to like. Early Doors is running on Gold (or some such channel) at the moment. Dunno why it's not more popular.....

Agree mate, Early Doors is brilliant. Everyone of a certain age has drank in a pub like that. Fellas who come in after work who don't really want to go home, the odd couple, the lonely old man, plus two coppers that come in the back for a pint later on. Beautifully written with an underlying sadness as life passes them all by.

Particularily like the one, where they have a birthday party in the pub, the two Coppers are selling weed that's from a raid whilst dancing to Bob Marley !

Thought it was great when it 1st came out.anything with Geoffrey Hughes in it gets my approval. A episode that I remember fondly is where Anthonys girlfriend is introduced and the family find out shes a vegetarian. Nanna says "oooh the poor girl " and "can't you have a bit of ham.its wafer thin "
